    Yin Yang Rapping HammerA mechanical rapping hammer for the top of the cathode in an electrostatic precipitator. To reduce mechanical wear and dust, the new design places the rapping hammer outside the dust collection area of the electrostatic precipitator, above the precipitator. A fork plate (6) is installed on the rotating shaft (8) at the position corresponding to the rapping hammer (3). Relative to the rapping anvil (2), the rapping hammer (3) is mounted on a bracket (13) placed on the insulator cover plate (4). The rotating shaft (8) is connected to the insulator cover plate (4) via a bearing seat (7) and a support (5), offering advantages such as simple manufacturing, easy installation and maintenance, and low cost. It is an ideal cathode rapper for electrostatic precipitators.

      The rapping system is designed to vibrate the plates and wires to dislodge dust deposited on their surfaces. Currently, the widely used system is the peripheral hammer rapping system, which consists of a drive shaft, an impact anvil, and rapping rods. As the shaft rotates, the hammer head reaches a high position and then falls by gravity, striking the anvil. The rapping force is transmitted through the rapping rods to various points on the plates. The drive mechanism must ensure uniform load distribution and minimize secondary dust re-entrainment. Typically, one rapping hammer is installed per row of plates, and all hammers in the same electric field are mounted on a single drive shaft, staggered at certain angles to allow alternating rapping of each row. The rapping intensity and frequency can be adjusted with appropriate electronic control devices.

     The anode rapping hammer is precisely assembled from multiple components, including a flexible clamping arm, a hammer head, a hammer handle, and a rapping shaft. Its unique feature lies in the flexible clamping arm, which is ingeniously designed as one arm, an arc-shaped flexible arm, and another arm. One arm is tightly connected to the hammer head with a robust large rivet, while the other arm is movably connected to the hammer handle with a delicate small rivet. Finally, the hammer handle is securely fixed to the rapping shaft.

      The standout feature of the newly introduced anode rapping hammer is the curved design of the hammer arm. This design allows the curved hammer arm to closely follow the shaft during rotation, maintaining an extremely small distance between the hammer head and the rapping shaft. This not only prevents the hammer head from entering the electric field discharge distance, avoiding discharge between the cathode wire and the hammer head, but also significantly reduces the torque required for the hammer head to rise. As a result, a lower-power rapping motor can achieve excellent rapping performance.

      Regarding the working principle of the anode rapping hammer, it operates by vibrating the plates and wires to remove dust deposited on their surfaces. Its shaft buckle structure is uniquely designed, consisting of two components: a U-clamp and a shaft clamp connected to the shaft, which are precision-welded to ensure correct relative positioning. Typically, one rapping hammer is installed per row of plates, and multiple rows of hammers in the same electric field are mounted on a single drive shaft, staggered at certain angles to allow alternating rapping of each row. The rapping intensity and frequency can be flexibly adjusted using an intelligent electronic control system.
