Product Introduction:

       Tetrafluoroethylene propylene rubber exhibits excellent stability against various automotive fuels, lubricants, brake fluids, mineral oils, and silicone oils. It has outstanding chemical resistance, particularly to high concentrations of acids, alkalis, and strong oxidants. It also offers excellent resistance to high-pressure steam, water, and electrical insulation properties, with low gas permeability. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 200°C.

Physical and Chemical Properties:

1. Due to its unique molecular structure, it possesses alkali resistance and amine resistance.

2. It exhibits excellent durability against high-temperature and high-pressure steam.

3. It has electrical insulation properties.

4. It performs excellently in acidic crude oil and natural gas containing hydrogen sulfide, amine-based corrosion inhibitors, high-pH drilling mud, cracked acids, and water-oil mixtures.

Application Environment:

Mainly used for manufacturing rubber seals that operate long-term at temperatures not exceeding 200°C and short-term not exceeding 250°C, resistant to high temperatures, water vapor, bleach, strong corrosion (sulfuric acid, nitric acid, fuming acid), etc.

Primarily used in chemical industry, shipbuilding, automotive, oil fields, aviation industry, and other fields. For example, seals for ship engines, steam-resistant seals, and petroleum extraction.

Seal Design and Process Reference:

Rubber seals are prone to dimensional changes after processing and vulcanization. This may be due to various factors such as molding shrinkage or extrusion expansion relaxation. These changes should be determined and considered when designing and manufacturing components like molds and dies for a product.

The higher precision tolerance levels listed in GB/T 3672.1—2002 "Tolerances for Rubber Products: Part 1: Dimensional Tolerances" should only be adopted when required by the final application and should be limited to those dimensions deemed critical. The higher the precision adopted, the stricter the controls that must be implemented during the manufacturing process, and thus the higher the cost.

When a product requires specific special properties, using a compound that can be molded with precise tolerances may not always provide these properties. In such cases, it should be negotiated between the relevant parties. Generally, low-hardness vulcanizates (i.e., vulcanizates with a hardness below 50 IRHD) require larger tolerances than high-hardness vulcanizates.

GB/T 3672.1—2002 specifies dimensional tolerance classes and tolerance values for molded, extruded, and calendered solid rubber products, as well as the corresponding test methods required to confirm compliance with the standard. The tolerances specified in this standard apply to vulcanized rubber and may also apply to products made from thermoplastic rubber. This standard does not apply to precision annular seals, calendered composite products like rubber-coated fabrics, or products coated with rubber by dipping or spreading methods.
