The reinforcing ribs are denser compared to modern cast iron surface plates, and there are more diagonal bracing ribs. This configuration ensures high precision and strong stability of the cast iron surface plate. Old-style cast iron surface plates are commonly used for inspection and marking. Old-style cast iron surface plates are less commonly used today due to their heavy weight and high cost. Therefore, most customers now opt for new-style cast iron surface plates, which feature a combination of surface, perimeter frame, and reinforcing ribs—making them both economical and aesthetically pleasing.
