Plastic Biaxial Geogrid

Plastic biaxial geogrid is a primary geosynthetic material among biaxial geogrids, made from polymer through extrusion, sheeting, perforation, and then longitudinal and transverse stretching. This material possesses significant tensile strength in both longitudinal and transverse directions. This structure provides an effective interlocking system for bearing and dispersing forces within the soil, making it suitable for large-area load-bearing foundations.
Applications:

Plastic biaxial geogrid is suitable for reinforcing embankments and roadbeds, slope protection, tunnel wall reinforcement, and load-bearing foundation reinforcement in large airports, parking lots, cargo yards at ports, etc.

1. Increase the bearing capacity of roadbeds (foundations) and extend their service life.

2. Prevent subsidence or cracking of road (ground) surfaces, maintaining a neat and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

3. Convenient construction, saving time and labor, shortening project duration, and reducing maintenance costs.

4. Prevent cracks in culverts.

5. Reinforce slopes and prevent soil erosion.

6. Reduce the thickness of the cushion layer, saving costs.

7. Support the stability of slope grass reinforcement mats for environmental greening.

8. Can replace metal mesh for use as false roof mesh in coal mine tunnels.

Construction Method:

When used for roadbeds and pavements, excavate the base course, install a sand cushion layer (height difference not exceeding 10 cm), compact it into a platform, and lay the geogrid. The longitudinal axis should align with the main force direction. Overlap longitudinally by 15–20 cm and transversely by 10 cm, securing overlaps with plastic ties. Fix the laid geogrid to the ground every 1.5–2 m using U-shaped nails. Backfill soil material promptly over the laid geogrid. The number of geogrid layers depends on technical requirements.
