Basalt Grating (Basalt Anti-Crack Mesh)

Basalt fiber geogrid is made by selecting alkali and acid-resistant basalt fiber yarn, using foreign warp knitting machines to weave the base material, employing a warp-knitted directional structure to fully utilize the yarn in the fabric, giving it excellent tensile strength, high tear strength, and creep resistance. It is then coated with modified asphalt to form a planar mesh-like material.

Basalt geogrid offers advantages such as freeze-thaw resistance (-260-650°C), a thermal expansion coefficient consistent with asphalt concrete, high tensile strength, UV resistance, and chemical stability. This makes it suitable for road surface reinforcement, preventing highway issues like cracks and ruts, and solving the long-standing challenge of reinforcing asphalt pavements. The elastic modulus ratio of basalt fiber asphalt concrete to asphalt concrete at room temperature is as high as 24:1, providing high deformation capacity with a fracture elongation of about 3.1%. Basalt fiber features low freeze-thaw resistance (-260-650°C), a thermal expansion coefficient matching asphalt concrete, high tensile strength, UV protection, and excellent chemical stability. Since asphalt mixture mixing temperatures exceed 190°C, basalt fiber is a competitively advantageous new material replacing polyester and lignin fibers.

Basalt grid uses basalt fiber woven fabric as the base material, coated with polymer emulsion. It is widely used for building interior and exterior walls, fireproofing, insulation, and crack resistance, outperforming glass fiber in various properties. It offers good alkali resistance, flexibility, and high tensile strength in both warp and weft directions. As a non-metallic inorganic fiber, it appears golden brown and is characterized by non-combustibility, non-toxicity, environmental friendliness (low-carbon material), high strength, great toughness, and low shrinkage. Using a combination of slurry impregnation and warp-knitted reinforcement processes, it forms a road crack-resistant material with high strength and excellent anti-cracking performance.
