Characteristics of Hot-Dip Galvanized Cable Trays

1. The entire steel surface is protected. Whether in recessed areas, inside fittings, or any other corners that are difficult for coatings to reach, molten zinc easily and uniformly covers them.

2. The hardness of the galvanized layer is greater than that of steel. The upper Eta layer has a hardness of only 70 DPN, making it susceptible to impact and denting. However, the lower Zeta and Delta layers have hardness values of 179 and 211 DPN, respectively, which are higher than the 159 DPN hardness of iron. Therefore, their impact resistance and abrasion resistance are excellent.

3. In edge and corner areas, the zinc layer is often thicker than in other areas, with good toughness and abrasion resistance. In contrast, other coatings in these edge and corner areas are often thin, difficult to apply, and prone to damage, frequently requiring maintenance.

4. Even if a small portion of the zinc layer is脱落 due to significant mechanical damage or other reasons, exposing the iron base, the surrounding zinc layer will act as a sacrificial anode to protect the steel in this area from corrosion. Other coatings, on the contrary, allow rust to form immediately and spread rapidly beneath the coating, causing it to peel off.

5. The consumption of the zinc layer in the atmosphere is very slow, approximately 1/17 to 1/18 of the steel corrosion rate, and it is predictable. Its lifespan far exceeds that of any other coating.
