High Efficiency Cylinder Cooler Series

Application: Direct reduced iron in the rotary hearth furnace of the steel industry.

Working Principle: The high-efficiency drum cooler series is designed for the direct reduced iron production process in the rotary hearth furnace of the steel industry. It rotates high-temperature pellets at 1100°C within an inclined rotary drum equipped with a material-guiding structure. After spray cooling, the pellets are moved from the feed end to the discharge end, with their temperature reduced to below 300°C.

It mainly consists of a feeding device, drum, support device, discharge device, transmission device, sealing device, and high-efficiency cooling unit. The rotary drum, transmission part, and supporting roller base are installed at a certain inclination according to working conditions.

Drum Part: Adopts a new structural form with a single drum in the middle and double drums at both ends. The cooling unit employs a spray rapid cooling method within the drum space, achieving fast, efficient, and controllable scientific cooling of materials.

Cooling System: Includes a cooling hood, nozzles, pipelines, exhaust chimney, cooling tower, water supply pump, drainage pump, work platform, etc.

Main Performance and Features:

★ Designed with different cooling atomizing nozzles to achieve gradient cooling of materials inside the drum, improving heat exchange efficiency:

The drum cooler uses forced convective cooling through spray evaporation. Parameters such as the average Sauter mean diameter of atomized droplets and droplet velocity are adjusted according to the temperature gradient to enhance heat exchange efficiency.

★ Double-layer drum structure at both ends effectively protects the drum, support, and transmission devices while increasing the heat exchange area:

The double-layer drum structure at both ends of the cooler, along with specially designed cooling nozzles for the interlayer, effectively protects the support and transmission devices, increases the heat exchange and cooling area, and makes the structure more compact and reasonable.

★ Provides multiple sealing methods to effectively prevent pellet oxidation and ensure product quality:

The feeding and discharging devices of the drum cooler and the rotating drum are sealed with a combination of ceramic fiber cloth and nitrogen gas pressure. The discharge outlet also features a double-layer nitrogen gas curtain seal.

★ The drum cooler has a compact structure and high technical design content, improving cooling efficiency and product quality while effectively saving energy and reducing production costs.
