Main uses
1. One of the basic organic raw materials. Mainly used in the production of formaldehyde, acetic acid, and various other organic products. It is also a raw material for pesticides and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, it serves as an important solvent and can be blended into gasoline as an alternative fuel.
2. Used as a solvent for coatings, varnishes, shellac, inks, adhesives, dyes, etc. It is also a raw material for manufacturing pesticides, pharmaceuticals, plastics, synthetic fibers, and organic chemical products such as formaldehyde. Other uses include automotive antifreeze, metal surface cleaning agents, and denatured alcohol.
3. Methanol is used as a cleaning degreaser. The MOS grade is primarily used for discrete devices, medium- and large-scale integrated circuits, while the BV-III grade is mainly used for ultra-large-scale integrated circuit technology.
4. Used as an analytical reagent, such as a solvent, methylating agent, and chromatographic analysis reagent. Also used in organic synthesis.
5. Used in the electronics industry, commonly as a cleaning degreaser.
6. Typically, methanol is a better solvent than ethanol and can dissolve many inorganic salts.
7. Mainly used in the production of formaldehyde, fragrances, dyes, pharmaceuticals, antifreeze, solvents, etc.
