Properties:

Light-colored powder or granules, relative density 1.619, melting point 155°C, soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, 1% aqueous solution pH 8.0. Gradually loses ammonia in air to form monoammonium phosphate.

Applications:

In industry, diammonium phosphate is mainly used as a fire retardant for wood, paper, and textiles, as an additive in fire-resistant coatings, and in printing plate making and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

As a food additive, diammonium phosphate is used in the food industry as a leavening agent and nutrient supplement.
