Properties:

White powder or fine granules, easily soluble in water, with an alkaline aqueous solution.

Applications:

(1) Industrially used as the main auxiliary agent in synthetic detergents, soap booster, pre-tanning agent in leather making, water softener for industrial water; effective dispersant for suspensions such as paints, kaolin, magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate drilling mud; used in papermaking as an anti-grease agent; (2) In the food industry, mainly used as a quality improver for canned goods, dairy products, fruit juice beverages, and soy milk; water-retaining agent and tenderizer for meat products like ham and luncheon meat; in aquatic product processing, it not only retains water and tenderizes but also acts as an expansion and bleaching agent; in canned broad beans, it softens the skins; also used as a water softener, chelating agent, pH regulator, thickener, and in the beer industry. Sodium tripolyphosphate is generally added at 3-5‰ in food processing, with a maximum of 3% in aquatic product processing.
