ZSFC Dry Alarm Valve

I. ZSFC Dry Alarm Valve Product Introduction:

The ZSFC dry alarm valve is a new type of 1:5 differential, manually externally reset valve. When one or more sprinklers in a dry automatic sprinkler system (referred to as a dry system) activate, the compressed gas pressure on the system side rapidly decreases, automatically opening the valve to allow water into the system side piping and activating the fire alarm device.

The dry alarm valve, together with interconnected alarm facilities, system piping networks, air supply systems, and water supply systems, forms the dry alarm system. Developed from wet systems to meet the need for automatic sprinkler systems in cold and high-temperature environments, it is another type of closed system.

IV. ZSFC Dry Alarm Valve Storage Requirements:

The dry alarm valve should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry warehouse, avoiding storage with corrosive substances, and kept in an environment of -10°C to +40°C.

V. ZSFC Dry Alarm Valve Installation Instructions:

1. Before installing the dry alarm valve in the system piping network, the water supply network must be thoroughly cleaned to ensure it is free of debris, foreign objects, and to maintain clean water quality.

2. The ZSFC dry alarm valve must be installed vertically in the system pipeline, suitable for an operating environment temperature of 4°C to 70°C.

3. During installation of the ZSFC dry alarm valve, lifting or placement should be done using the flanges at both ends of the valve body. Do not apply force to other components or pipelines to avoid unnecessary damage to the dry alarm valve.

4. The installation location should be considered for safety and ease of operation. Sufficient installation and maintenance space should be left around the dry alarm valve to ensure repairs can be made in the shortest downtime.

5. According to system design specifications, the ZSFC dry alarm valve requires a signal butterfly valve (gate valve) to be installed on the water supply side, and it is recommended to install a signal butterfly valve (gate valve) on the system side to facilitate system debugging. To meet functional requirements, an air pressure maintenance device should be installed on the system side.

6. When the dry system piping network is too large, consider installing an accelerator during design and installation to speed up the valve disc opening and enable rapid fire suppression.

VI. ZSFC Dry Alarm Valve System Debugging:

1. Check if the dry alarm valve is installed according to the diagram in the "Instruction Manual." After ensuring correct system installation, clean the system pipeline and valve disc assembly, and close the signal butterfly valve or gate valve on the water supply side.

2. Open the drain ball valve to drain any remaining water in the valve (note: must be completely drained, and do not close the drain ball valve), close the test alarm bell ball valve, push the reset handle into the valve to close it.

3. Close the condensate drain ball valve, open the priming water ball valve to inject priming water into the funnel until no more can be added (some water may drip from the drip valve during filling). Open the condensate drain ball valve to drain excess water, then close both the condensate drain and priming water ball valves.

4. For dry alarm valves equipped with an air pressure maintenance device, adjust the upper and lower limits based on the rated water supply pressure and minimum air injection pressure values.

5. Open the shut-off valve to inject the rated air pressure into the pipeline (minimum air injection pressure values are shown in the table above). The drain ball valve should not discharge water or compressed air; or when the shut-off valve is closed (note: the shut-off valve should be open in the ready state), there should be no significant drop in air pressure. The drip valve should not discharge pressurized water. If any of these occur, check if the valve is closed or if there is a leak in the system pipeline. If necessary, open the valve cover, clean and flush any debris, and reset the valve.

6. After confirming the valve is fully closed, the upper chamber is primed with water, and compressed air is injected, close the drain ball valve and open the signal butterfly valve or gate valve on the water supply side to inject water at the rated working pressure.

7. Open the test alarm bell ball valve on the dry alarm valve to test if the alarm bell can sound without activating the valve. The test alarm bell ball valve should be closed when the valve is in the ready state.

VII. ZSFC Dry Alarm Valve System Working Principle:

When a fire occurs in the protected area, causing a rapid temperature rise, one or more closed sprinklers in that area activate due to heat. The compressed air pressure in the piping network drops, and when the system pressure reaches the activation value (valve activation pressure ratio is 1:5), the dry alarm valve disc opens, initiating the alarm. The dry system then undergoes a process of air exhaust and water filling, delaying sprinkler activation. Water flows into the system pipeline through the sprinklers for fire suppression—this is the operational process of the dry system.

After the fire is extinguished and the alarm is cleared, the dry alarm valve does not reset automatically and must be debugged before returning to the ready state.

I. System Maintenance and Care:

1. The dry alarm valve and its accessories should be inspected at least every six months to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Open the valve cover to inspect the rubber sealing surface on the valve disc; it should be clean and undamaged. Clean or replace if necessary.

The sealing surface of the valve seat must not accumulate sediment or dirt; clean if necessary. The sealing surface should be smooth, without damage or indentations; repair or replace if needed.

2. During normal operation, if the drip valve of the dry alarm valve is dripping excessively or discharging pressurized water, or if the system air pressure drops too quickly, promptly inspect the dry alarm system to troubleshoot.

3. Regularly check the accumulation of priming water in the dry alarm valve. If the water level is too high, open the condensate drain ball valve to discharge excess water to prevent it from flowing into the system and causing unnecessary loss. If the water level is too low, replenish the priming water (close the water supply and system side signal valves to reduce water and air pressure to zero before adding water) to prevent the valve disc sealing component from adhering to the valve seat, which could affect system reliability.

4. Test the hydraulic alarm bell and pressure switch quarterly to ensure the alarm bell sounds and the pressure switch sends alarm signals. After testing, close the test alarm bell ball valve, open the alarm pipeline drain valve to discharge any remaining water, then close the drain valve.

5. Note: The anti-aging有效期 of the valve disc sealing垫 (rubber) is one year.
