EC expands coverage with rapid response pendant sprinkler K115

EC Expanded Coverage Quick Response Concealed Horizontal Sidewall (EC-HSW) is a large coverage, decorative sprinkler head with a 3mm glass bulb, designed for light and ordinary hazard (Group I) environments such as churches, restaurant seating areas, hotels, educational facilities, offices, and other automatic fire sprinkler systems using hydraulic calculation methods. Its extensive coverage reaches up to 4.9m × 7.3m. This sprinkler is installed on walls or beam sides beneath flat ceilings. When piping across the ceiling is undesirable for aesthetic or structural reasons, horizontal sidewall sprinklers are often used in place of pendant or upright types.

The EC-HSW series, with its 3mm glass bulb and quick response thermal sensitivity, provides Quick Response Expanded Coverage (QREC) spray for various large coverage areas listed in Table B or Table C.

The Expanded Coverage Quick Response EC sprinkler K115 pendant type, with concealed installation in the EC-HSW series, can use a two-piece, Schedule 40 (3/4” NPT DN20) escutcheon plate. The escutcheon plate allows for an embedment adjustment of 12.7mm, which reduces the precision required for cutting the sprinkler drop pipe.

Copper alloy sprinklers in corrosive environments can be protected with anti-corrosion coatings to extend their service life. Although coated sprinklers have passed standard corrosion tests conducted by certifying agencies, these tests do not cover all corrosive conditions. It is recommended to consult end-users regarding the suitability of the coating for specific corrosive environments. Factors such as ambient temperature, chemical concentration, and flow rate of gases/chemicals should be considered, particularly the corrosive properties of the chemicals involved.

The Expanded Coverage Quick Response EC sprinkler K115 pendant type must only be used with Schedule 40 escutcheon plates.

Sprinkler operation: The liquid in the glass bulb expands when heated. At the rated temperature, the bulb shatters, activating the sprinkler to discharge water.
