Equal-diameter silicon carbide rods are widely used, with wiring at both ends, various specifications, and a wide range of applications, including glass, ceramics, powder metallurgy, magnetic materials, metal heat treatment, rare earth, and other industries. They are used in both small experimental furnaces and large industrial furnaces.
U-type silicon carbide rods, with single-end wiring, are convenient to use and commonly used in experimental electric furnaces, roasting furnaces, Jianzhan kilns, metal melting furnaces, glass melting furnaces, crucible furnaces, and other kilns.
U-type right-angle silicon carbide rods are made by welding U-type silicon carbide rods and then cutting a 45-degree angle at the cold end before welding in the furnace. They are mainly used where U-type silicon carbide rods need to be installed vertically and where it is difficult to open the top. The cold end length is generally below 500 mm.

Thick-end silicon carbide rods are commonly used in old-style heat treatment furnaces, experimental furnaces, tunnel furnaces, etc.
Gate-type silicon carbide rods, with horizontal heating and large spacing, are suitable for heating the bottom or sides of large box furnaces and car-bottom furnaces, offering high temperature control accuracy and convenient wiring.
H-type silicon carbide rods, five-section silicon carbide rods are commonly used for heating and insulation in the glass industry's feeder channels.
H-type silicon carbide rods and groove-type silicon carbide rods are commonly used for heating glass material basins.
Threaded silicon carbide rods are suitable for industries such as power, coal, metallurgy, petrochemicals, cement, geological exploration, scientific research institutions, and universities for coal testing, coke testing, petroleum testing, and total sulfur content determination.

Can silicon carbide rods be repaired after breaking? If the break is at the welding point or the non-heating cold end, they can be returned to the manufacturer for welding with specialized equipment, which does not affect their performance. If the break is in the middle heating element of the silicon carbide rod, it cannot be used. For longer heating elements, they can also be returned to the manufacturer for welding, but this may have some impact on furnace temperature because after repair, a section of about 100 mm at the break will no longer heat. Since silicon carbide rods are hard and brittle at room temperature, improper packaging can easily cause breakage. Considering the round-trip shipping costs and welding fees, if a silicon carbide rod breaks, even if it has not been used or aged, it is generally not repaired.
