1 Overview

1.1 Scope of Application
The PSL 646U basic device uses optical fiber current differential protection as the primary protection, supplemented by current protection and three-phase auto-reclosing functions. It is suitable for transmission and distribution lines with voltage levels up to 110kV, particularly for lines requiring high protection selectivity such as ring networks, double-circuit lines, AC tie lines in subways, low-voltage outgoing lines of power plants, important tie lines in urban and distribution networks, and incoming lines for critical loads.
The D-type device is suitable for optical fiber differential protection of line-transformer groups with two-winding transformers at voltage levels of 35kV and below. It can be installed in panels or locally.

1.2 Main Features

Powerful communication and comprehensive recording: Provides Ethernet and RS-485 communication ports, supports Ethernet communication protocols, dedicated IEC60870-5-103 communication protocol, and IEC 61850 communication protocol; can query at least 100 trip records, 200 self-test records, the last 200 switch and status change records, comprehensively recording device operation information; can record 8~100 reports and change flag sets.

1.3 Main Models and Functions
This series includes the following devices:
1.3.1 Line Protection and Control Devices
a) PSL 641U Line Protection and Control Device, with overcurrent protection as the primary protection, suitable for protection and control of transmission or distribution lines.
b) PSL 642U Line Protection and Control Device, includes phase-to-phase distance protection, suitable for important lines.
c) PSL 643U Bus Tie Protection and Control Device, suitable for bus tie protection and control at voltage levels up to 110kV.
d) PSL 646U (including basic and D-type configurations) Line Protection and Control Device, basic type includes optical fiber current differential protection, suitable for important short lines; D-type configuration is suitable for optical fiber differential protection of line-transformer groups with two-winding transformers at voltage levels of 35kV and below.
1.3.2 Transformer Protection and Control Devices
a) PST 641U Transformer Differential Protection Device, configured with differential quick-break and ratio differential protection as the primary protection, suitable for transformers with capacities of 6.3MVA and above or important transformers in industrial enterprises.
b) PST 642U Transformer Protection and Control Device, suitable for backup protection of transformers with capacities of 6.3MVA and above or important transformers in industrial enterprises, with side-specific configurations.
c) PST 644U Non-Electrical Protection Device, suitable for power transformers up to 66kV, provides up to 16 non-electrical protection channels, can be used in conjunction with PST 641U and PST 642U.
d) PST 645U (including basic and D-type configurations) Transformer Protection and Control Device, basic type does not include differential protection, uses overcurrent protection as the primary protection, suitable for station/service/grounding transformers; D-type configuration includes differential protection and FC blocking, suitable for plant transformers.

1.3.3 Capacitor Protection and Control Device
PSC 641U Capacitor Protection and Control Device, suitable for protection and control of shunt capacitor banks in substations, configured with differential voltage (or current) and unbalanced voltage (or current) inputs.
1.3.4 Reactor Protection and Control Device
PST 648U Reactor Protection and Control Device, uses differential protection as the primary protection, suitable for protection and control of series and shunt reactors at voltage levels up to 110kV.
1.3.5 Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Device
641U Automatic Transfer Switch Device, includes 7 typical wiring modes for automatic transfer, suitable for automatic transfer of standby power supplies in various wiring modes at different voltage levels.
1.3.6 Motor Protection and Control Device
PSM 641U (including basic, D-type, and S-type configurations) Motor Protection and Control Device, suitable for protection and control of large and medium-sized motors at 3-10kV. The basic type is suitable for asynchronous motor protection; D-type is suitable for large asynchronous motors with capacities of 2MW and above; S-type is suitable for synchronous motor protection.
1.3.7 Bus Voltage Protection and Control Device
PSV 641U (including basic and J-type configurations) Bus Voltage Protection and Control Device, suitable for protection and measurement monitoring of one bus section (basic type) or two bus sections (J-type, with parallel and splitting functions).
