Primary Applications

Oleamide has a wide range of properties and applications. It can be used as a release agent for polyolefin injection molding, facilitating demolding, thereby increasing production and improving the surface gloss of products. It serves as a lubricant, antistatic agent, and anti-caking additive for polyolefins, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, phenolic resins, amino resins, polyesters, cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, and others. It is also used as a dye dispersant, lubricant, and release agent for color masterbatches and cable compounds in polyolefins and synthetic fibers. In processing plants, it must be added in the form of a mixture or masterbatch to ensure uniform quality. Adding 0.1–0.5% oleamide to low-density polyethylene film materials can enhance antistatic and lubricating properties, improve moisture resistance, significantly reduce friction and adhesion resistance, effectively prevent caking between pellets and adhesion between films, greatly improve blown film efficiency, resulting in finished films with excellent surface smoothness and preventing dust accumulation. As a modifier for plastic inks, adding 2–5% oleamide to polyamide inks improves printing performance and lubricity, enhances the scratch resistance, stain resistance, and wear resistance of prints. It also improves the spreading and adhesion of ink on printed surfaces, ensuring clear, durable, and vibrant prints. Additionally, it can be used as a compounding agent for coatings, carbon paper, typewriter paper, wax products, fiber oils, as well as a protective film for metals, surface lubricant, product stabilizer, dispersion stabilizer for electrophoretic aluminum coatings, and petroleum drilling aids.
