Usage Description

MPS300 alkaline reverse osmosis membrane cleaning agent is specifically designed for cleaning reverse osmosis membranes (RO), nanofiltration membranes (NF), and ultrafiltration membranes (UF). It is an anionic surfactant-based formulation that is highly effective at removing colloidal substances and other organic matter. When applied together with microbial inhibitors such as MPS330, it effectively removes biofilms. It is suitable for use with reverse osmosis membranes and TFC membrane elements from Dow Chemical (Filmtec), Hydranautics, and domestic manufacturers.

Usage Instructions

Prepare a 2.0-3.0% (by weight) MPS300 cleaning solution using reverse osmosis product water or desalinated water, and adjust the pH to 10.5-11.0.

The length of the cleaning cycle depends on the amount and nature of the scaling. The cleaning cycle is 1-2 hours. If the pH drops below 9 during cleaning, it indicates that the cleaning solution is nearly depleted and should be replenished or replaced immediately.

In cases of severe scaling, it may be necessary to extend the cleaning time and soak the membrane overnight. When cleaning severely scaled membranes, it is best to perform a short circulation after soaking.

At the end of the cleaning process, it is recommended to rinse the membrane with high-quality water to remove all MPS300 residues.

When the system is put back into operation, the water produced during the first 15-20 minutes must be discharged, or the duration adjusted based on actual conditions to ensure no cleaning solution remains.

Note: MPS300 may produce foam in the customer's on-site cleaning (CIP) storage tank. To reduce foam formation, the solution return pipe can be moved below the liquid level in the tank.
