Properties: This product is a white crystalline powder, easily soluble in water and soluble in ethanol, acetic acid, etc., insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons and trichloroethylene. Stable when dry.
Uses: This product is mainly used for the synthesis of halogenated hydantoins and hydroxymethyl hydantoins. It can also be used to synthesize hydantoin-type epoxy resins and hydantoin-type formaldehyde resins. Heating hydrolysis yields dimethylglycine; reacts with metal organic compounds to produce insecticides, acaricides, etc.
