Properties: This product is a white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform, and ethanol. Stable when dry; has an irritating odor.
Uses: This product is used as an excellent chlorinating agent in organic chemical synthesis.
This product is also a disinfectant and bactericide, effectively killing various microorganisms including spores, fungi, and viruses. Compared to other chlorine agents such as sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanuric acid,
it features good stability, low irritation, high chlorine content, and slow release. It is widely used for water disinfection in swimming pools and aquaculture; sterilization and algae control in industrial circulating cooling water; and environmental disinfection in public places such as hospitals, hotels, and schools.
