The polarimeter is an instrument used to measure the optical rotation of substances. By determining the optical rotation of a sample, the concentration, purity, sugar content, or composition of the sample can be ascertained. It is widely used in sugar production, pharmaceuticals, drug testing, food, fragrances, monosodium glutamate, as well as in chemical and petroleum industries for production, scientific research, and educational purposes, for laboratory analysis or process quality control.
