Plane Sliding Gate

A plane sliding gate is a type of flat gate where the gate leaf slides along the track of the gate slot via sliders on the side beams. It is primarily used for maintenance operations and is less commonly employed as a working gate. [1
Structural Features
Support Method: Utilizes a sliding support structure. Slider materials include hardwoods, copper plates, cast iron, steel, stainless steel plates, and filled PTFE plates, which are fixed by being embedded into steel clamping grooves through physical mechanical processing.
Operational Characteristics: The gate features small dimensions, simple construction, and easy installation. However, it suffers from high frictional resistance, difficulty in opening and closing, and susceptibility to cavitation and vibration under high-velocity flow conditions.
Application Scenarios
Suitable for scenarios with small gate openings and low operating heads, such as the inspection and maintenance of small hydraulic structures. In high-head applications, particular attention must be paid to the design of the gate slot shape, downstream boundary conditions, and cavitation control.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages: Compact structure, lightweight, and tight sealing;
Disadvantages: High frictional resistance, energy-intensive operation, and prone to cavitation and vibration issues under high-velocity flow conditions.
