1. Trimethylacetic acid chlorination method (most commonly used)
Raw material: trimethylacetic acid
Chlorination agent: Thionyl chloride (SOCl ₂)
Catalyst: Caprolactam (small amount)
Reaction conditions: Heat to 70 ℃, first remove sulfoxide chloride by vacuum distillation, and then collect the 105 ℃fraction by atmospheric distillation
Yield: Approximately 98%
