As a key intermediate of the fungicide benzoxazole, it is used for the preparation of triazole fungicides.

Synthesis lines:

Using 1,3-dichlorobenzene and 4-chlorophenol as raw materials, potassium carbonate and basic copper carbonate catalyst were added to N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) solvent, and the reaction was carried out at 170-173 ℃for several hours. Subsequently, the product was obtained by cooling, filtering, hydrochloric acid acidification (pH=6-6.5), dehydration, and vacuum distillation (2 kPa).
