Organic synthesis intermediates: used for the preparation of dyes, rubber accelerators, nitrocellulose paints, insecticides, preservatives, gas-phase corrosion inhibitors, fuel antioxidant additives, etc.
Metal corrosion inhibitors and steel rust inhibitors: applied in oilfield chemicals and industrial cooling systems.
Acidic gas absorbent: capable of absorbing acidic gases such as CO ₂ and H ₂ S.

1. Catalytic coupling of cyclohexylamine
Two molecules of cyclohexylamine undergo dehydration and condensation under acidic catalysts (such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid) or solid acid catalysts to form dicyclohexylamine.
Reaction equation:
2 C₆H₁₁NH₂ →(C₆H₁₁)₂NH + NH₃
2. Reduction amination of cyclohexanone with ammonia/hydrogen gas
Cyclohexanone first reacts with ammonia to form imine, and then undergoes catalytic hydrogenation (such as Ni, Pd catalysts) to obtain cyclohexylamine, which further reacts to form dicyclohexylamine 10.
3. Preparation from Aniline Hydrogenation (Indirect Route)
Aniline is first hydrogenated to produce cyclohexylamine, and then subjected to the above coupling reaction to obtain dicyclohexylamine.
