Vortex Grit Chamber Grit Remover

Structure and Working Principle:
The cyclone grit remover, as shown in Figure 1-2, consists of an impeller, drive shaft, motor, reducer, and grit suction system. Due to the upward inclination of the impeller blades, the rotation causes the wastewater in the tank to undergo a spiral motion. Combined with the rotational flow generated by the tangential entry of the wastewater, which aligns with the direction of the impeller rotation, a vortex flow pattern forms in the tank. Under appropriate blade inclination and linear velocity conditions, the sand particles in the wastewater are scoured while maintaining optimal sedimentation efficiency, while organic matter and lighter substances originally attached to the sand particles are carried out of the cyclone tank with the wastewater. Additionally, the rotation of the impeller reduces the sensitivity of the cyclone tank to changes in flow patterns due to variations in inflow, ensuring stable grit removal performance and low organic content in the discharged sand.
