Floating Bed Ion Exchanger

I. Application Scope The double-chamber floating ion exchanger, as a water purification equipment, can be used for the treatment of deionized water and desalinated water in industries such as power plants, boilers, textiles, chemicals, electronics, coating, pharmaceuticals, and food.
II. Equipment Introduction The double-chamber floating ion exchanger is referred to as the double-chamber floating bed. A perforated plate is installed inside the ion exchanger bed, dividing the exchange bed into upper and lower chambers: strong ion exchange resin is placed in the upper chamber, and weak ion exchange resin is placed in the lower chamber. It operates in a floating bed mode with a downward flow regeneration method. In addition to features such as excellent effluent quality, high resin working exchange capacity, and low regeneration ratio consumption, the double-chamber floating bed also has its unique characteristics. 
1. The resin fills the bed, eliminating the need for backwashing before regeneration and simplifying the regeneration operation.
2. Due to the floating bed operation mode, the water flow resistance during operation is reduced, and the range of variable flow rates during operation is increased (7–40 m/h).
3. The flow rate can be adjusted based on the salt content of the raw water (i.e., a low flow rate can be selected for high salt content raw water, and a high flow rate can be selected for low salt content raw water), expanding the application range of the ion exchanger.
4. Resin "layer mixing" will not occur.
5. Strict requirements are imposed on the turbidity of the inlet water.
6. Since the ion exchange resin cannot be backwashed inside the bed, external cleaning equipment needs to be added.
