Sight Glass Applications and Structure

With a compact installation size and low driving torque, it is easy and quick to operate. It also offers excellent flow regulation and shut-off sealing characteristics. For medium to large diameters and medium to low pressure applications, it is the dominant form of sight glass.

Applications: Sight glasses can be used in chemical towers with high temperatures, strong corrosion, high toxicity, significant hazards, and tendencies for crystallization to ensure safe production.

Structure: The sight glass mainly consists of a base plate, sight glass window, valve assembly, etc.

Manufacturing and inspection standards: Designed, manufactured, and accepted according to the "Chemical Piping Handbook" and HG/T21619~21620-86 "Pressure Vessel Sight Glass". 

Maintenance and Care of Sight Glass

1. The sight glass is used to observe the flow reactions of liquids, gases, steam, and other media. Its window glass should be kept clean and free of dust;
2. The sight glass window is a fragile component. Handle with care during installation;
3. The temperature and pressure resistance of the sight glass have certain limitations:
Temperature resistance: Tempered borosilicate glass ≤180°C, quartz glass ≤1000°C.
Pressure resistance: Tempered borosilicate glass pane ≤3.0MPa, quartz glass pane ≤10.0MPa,
Tempered borosilicate glass cylinder <1.0MPa, quartz glass cylinder <1.6MPa;
4. Allowable sudden temperature change <60°C. The glass may crack due to excessive temperature differences, so please maintain it carefully.
