1800-type silicon molybdenum rod

Molybdenum disilicide heating elements are resistance heating elements based on molybdenum disilicide. When heated to high temperatures in air, a dense quartz glass layer forms on the surface, protecting it from further aging. The 1800-type element can reach temperatures up to 1850°C in air. Differences between 1800°C molybdenum disilicide rods and 1700-type molybdenum disilicide rods:  

        (1) The weld joints of the 1800-type molybdenum disilicide rods are full, protruding, and bulging, with no cracks at the welded areas, which distinguishes them from the 1700-type.  

        (2) The surface of the 1800-type molybdenum disilicide rods is smoother and has a metallic luster.  

        (3) Higher density: Compared to the 1700-type, the 1800°C molybdenum disilicide rods of the same specifications are heavier.  

        (4) Different color: The 1700-type molybdenum disilicide rods undergo surface treatment for a better appearance, making them look black.  

        (5) The operating current and voltage of the 1800-type molybdenum disilicide rods are lower than those of the 1700-type. For example, for an element with a hot end of 9, the 1800-type operates at 220A, while the 1700-type operates at around 270A.
