Piperazine hexahydrate is soluble in ethanol, and when mixed with glacial acetic acid under stirring and cooling, it precipitates piperazine acetate, which can be used in the synthesis of hormonal drugs like hydrocortisone sodium phosphate. Piperazine hexahydrate is also utilized in the production of piperazine acetate, a pharmaceutical intermediate.
