Product Introduction:

Laboratory UseHigh Shear Emulsifier is used in applications where traditional stirring cannot meet requirements, such as the production of emulsions and suspensions. Effects that traditional stirring cannot achieve even after several hours can be accomplished by batch dispersers in just a few minutes. Its effectiveness is based on the rotor-stator principle. The circumferential speed of the rotor provides the necessary shear force to reduce droplets and solid particles.

High shear dispersion and emulsification is a process of efficiently, rapidly and uniformly introducing one or more phases (liquid, solid, gas) into another immiscible continuous phase (usually liquid). Under normal circumstances, each phase is immiscible. When external energy is input, the two materials recombine into a homogeneous phase. Due to the high tangential speed generated by the high-speed rotation of the rotor and the strong kinetic energy brought by high-frequency mechanical effects, the materials are subjected to comprehensive effects such as strong mechanical and hydraulic shear, centrifugal extrusion, liquid layer friction, impact tearing and turbulence in the narrow gap between the stator and rotor, forming suspensions (solid/liquid), emulsions (liquid/liquid) and foams (gas/liquid). Thus, under the combined action of corresponding mature processes and appropriate additives, immiscible solid phases, liquid phases and gas phases are instantly, uniformly and finely dispersed and emulsified. After high-frequency cycles, stable high-quality products are finally obtained.

For decades, the DISPERSING series products have been synonymous with high quality and reliability, and can be applied to almost all emulsification, suspension and dissolution processes. Different working head (rotor + stator) structures can meet different mixing, dispersing and emulsification requirements. There are multiple sealing methods, which can be installed at different positions of the container and can operate under conditions of 16 bar and 160°C.

The EC series offers two flange mount options: KT (atmospheric pressure type) and KD (pressure-resistant type). It is suitable for atmospheric pressure, closed, vacuum and pressure working conditions.

Recommended Order of Adding Materials

When using a high-shear mixing emulsifier, the recommended material feeding steps are as follows:

1. Add all components with the minimum viscosity to the container and start mixing.

2. Add the remaining liquid or soluble components.

3. Add solids that require vigorous mechanical stirring or solids that need a certain period of time for chemical reactions.
