Features and Applications

DETU can enable rapid vulcanization of chloroprene rubber, and is especially suitable for the continuous vulcanization process of chloroprene rubber. Using DETU, MBTS and DOTG in combination can achieve a faster promoting effect, but may cause scorching;

Performance: Vulcanization accelerator DETU is a white crystal. Relative density: 1.10, easily soluble in ethanol, soluble in water, slightly soluble in gasoline, and hygroscopic.
Applications: This type of accelerator has low promoting efficiency and poor scorching resistance, so it is rarely used for diene rubbers. However, under special circumstances, such as when sulfur donors like thiuram sulfides are used for vulcanization, this product acts as an activating agent. Thiourea accelerators have unique effects on the vulcanization of chloroprene rubber, and can produce chloroprene vulcanized rubber with good properties such as tensile strength, hardness and compression set. Compared with NA-22, this product has faster scorching and vulcanization speed, but better vulcanization plateau performance. It is easy to disperse and does not cause blooming. When used in large dosages, it can realize high-temperature and high-speed vulcanization, and is especially suitable for continuous vulcanization of extruded products. This product is also a promoter for butyl rubber and a vulcanization activating agent for EPDM rubber. It has an antioxidant effect on natural rubber, chloroprene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber. It is generally used in the manufacture of industrial products, special wires and cables, sponge products and so on.
