Functions: The sulfur flower antioxidant BHT (264) is odorless, easily soluble in oils, methanol, benzene and other organic solvents, and insoluble in water, propylene glycol, caustic soda and the like.
Applications: BHT is used as an antioxidant for rubber. When used in items that come into contact with food, it must comply with the regulations of Category 4 in BgVV XXI. There are no regulations for BHT in FDA food contact applications.
