The official inauguration of the General Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Enterprises in Vietnam marks a brand-new chapter in our development. This milestone is the fruit of collective wisdom and hard work of all our members, embodies our spirit of unity and collaboration to build a shared future, and injects robust momentum into the Chamber’s future growth. The year 2024 that just passed has been an extraordinary year for our Chamber. We successfully completed the general election and established a more complete organizational framework. At present, the Chamber boasts 51 council member entities, 15 standing council member entities, and six newly added board of supervisors entities. It encompasses three regional branches, 15 enterprise federations and two industrial associations, with a total membership exceeding 4,000 enterprises covering major provinces and key industries across Vietnam. The refinement of our organizational structure and integration of resources stand as an important milestone in optimizing the Chamber’s governance system, demonstrate our reform spirit of advancing with the times, lay a solid foundation for the comprehensive upgrading of the Chamber, and create favorable conditions for us to better serve China-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation as well as the growth of member enterprises. We also achieved fruitful results in external liaison work, contributing our share to bilateral economic and trade exchanges. Within merely three months after the election, the Chamber received 26 official delegations from Chinese government authorities and enterprises, alongside more than 30 informal ad-hoc visits. These exchanges helped forge closer communication and cooperation mechanisms between Chinese and Vietnamese businesses, further consolidated the foundation of China-Vietnam economic collaboration, and showcased the Chamber’s pivotal role in advancing bilateral relations. We hosted a wide array of events that greatly elevated the Chamber’s influence. The Seminar on Risk Management and Financial Services for Chinese-funded Enterprises in Vietnam delivered pragmatic insights; the Lecture on Staff Health Prevention and First-Aid Resource Sharing conveyed heartfelt care for our employees; the Exchange Session on Vietnam’s Real Estate and Stock Market Trends and 2025 Market Outlook offered forward-looking analysis, to name just a few. These events left indelible marks of the Chamber’s dedication to serving members and sharing development opportunities. Diverse member events significantly boosted the Chamber’s cohesion. We hosted international football tournaments, basketball friendly matches and badminton competitions, attracting over 700 athletes from all walks of life who showcased their fighting spirit and profound friendship. When Typhoon Molave wreaked heavy havoc across Vietnam, we coordinated Chinese-funded enterprises to donate a total of 7.8 billion Vietnamese Dong to assist disaster-stricken residents, reflecting the profound bond of mutual assistance between China and Vietnam. Looking back, every achievement we made this year stemmed from the combined strength of all member enterprises. We forged ahead with unwavering resolve, raising the profile of the General Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Enterprises in Vietnam. We also carried forward our mission to unite all members and forge ahead along the path of high-quality common development. I wish to express my special gratitude to the leadership of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, including Ambassador He Wei, Minister-Counselor Wu Guoquan, Counselor Li Zhenmin and others, for their consistent care and support. Thanks to the thoughtful guidance and assistance from the Embassy, we have kept moving forward as a bridge of China-Vietnam friendship and achieved today’s progress. The Embassy serves not only as our solid backing but also as a vital channel for communication and collaboration. We will stay true to our original aspiration, maintain close communication with the Embassy and all Chinese Consulates General, further deepen the Chamber’s work, and inject fresh vitality into China-Vietnam friendship and cooperation. INDUSTRY: national multi-industry
Introduct: Founded upon the initiative of 11 Chinese-funded enterprises stationed in Singapore, the Association of Chinese Enterprises (Singapore) was officially inaugurated on 2 February 1999. Its establishment marked a milestone in the development of Chinese-funded businesses in Singapore, offering these enterprises a long-awaited home of their own. Backed by robust support from all its members and adhering to its founding mission, the Association serves all Chinese-funded entities registered in Singapore. It has undertaken extensive work to safeguard members’ commercial interests, facilitate exchanges and collaboration among Chinese-funded firms, advance bilateral economic cooperation between China and Singapore, and boost investment and partnerships between Chinese and local Singaporean companies both within Singapore and in third-country markets. Delivering comprehensive, multi-tiered assistance and services to Chinese-funded enterprises operating locally and fostering horizontal business ties, the Association has evolved into a vital bridge connecting Chinese-funded businesses with Singapore’s wider community to deepen mutual understanding and expand cooperative links. Boasting an appealing investment climate, dynamic financial marketplace and sound legal framework, Singapore has drawn a large cohort of Chinese-funded enterprises to set up operations. In particular, the Chinese Government has rolled out its long-term "Going Global" strategy to encourage domestic enterprises to invest overseas, while the Singaporean Government has put forward an economic vision of "riding on the growth momentum of China’s economy". Together, these policies have created uniquely favourable conditions for Chinese companies expanding abroad, especially into Singapore. Spurred by proactive governmental efforts from both sides, bilateral trade and economic cooperation between China and Singapore have entered a new era. A surging number of Chinese-funded enterprises – including fast-growing private businesses – have travelled to Singapore for fact-finding missions, established local branches or even secured stock listings, heralding an unprecedented boom and a golden age for Chinese corporate expansion in Singapore. As the sole non-governmental organisation representing Chinese-funded enterprises in Singapore, the Association has expanded steadily alongside thriving China-Singapore economic and trade ties. Its membership has grown from the original 11 founding members to over 700 enterprises at present, spanning diverse sectors including finance, ocean shipping, air transport, trading, energy, construction, science and technology, iron and steel, legal and accountancy services, news and media, hospitality and tourism, real estate, education and consultancy, as well as representative offices of parent companies. Nearly 70 percent of its member firms are major state-owned enterprises. Through sustained self-development, member companies have grown in strength and contributed substantially to bilateral commercial development between China and Singapore. Nurtured by supportive policies from the Chinese Government and managed by outstanding local entrepreneurs, Chinese-funded enterprises in Singapore have achieved consistent growth in quantity and operational scale alongside improved corporate competitiveness.
