Moxifloxacin hydrochloride is a broad spectrum and antimicrobial activity of 8- methoxy quinolone antibacterial drug .In vitro showed against gram positive bacteria, gram negative bacteria, anaerobic bacteria, acid fast bacteria and atypical organisms such as Mycoplasma, chlamydia and Legionella have broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.
Moxifloxacin hydrochloride antibacterial mechanism for the interference of II, IV topoisomerase. Topoisomerase is to control the DNA topology and in DNA replication, repair and transcription of key enzyme.
Moxifloxacin hydrochloride bactericidal curves show, moxifloxacin hydrochloride is a concentration dependent bactericidal activity. Minimum bactericidal concentration and minimum inhibitory concentration is consistent. Moxifloxacin hydrochloride on b- lactam and a macrolide antibiotic resistant bacteria are effective.
Moxifloxacin is used to treat a number of infections, including: respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, anthrax, intraabdominal infections, endocarditis, meningitis, and tuberculosis.
