1: Water-soluble gold leaf adhesive is specifically designed for applying genuine gold leaf, silver leaf, copper leaf, and aluminum leaf. It offers strong adhesion to various metals and non-metallic materials (such as wood, plastic, glass, marble, etc.). The metal leaf surface remains smooth and glossy, making it particularly suitable for large-scale continuous foil application in interior building projects. This product is non-toxic, odorless, environmentally friendly, and meets environmental protection standards.
2: Ensure the surface is dry, dust-free, and free from wax or grease. If the surface has small holes, dents, cracks, or untreated wood or plastic, apply a layer of isolation primer first. Once dry, lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper.
3: This product can be applied using a brush, cotton pad, or spray gun. Apply a thin layer of adhesive, and after 1 hour, the foil can be applied.
4: Drying time may vary depending on the working environment. To achieve optimal results, the adhesive can be diluted with a large amount (10-30%) of water, depending on the specific situation.
5: Use clean water for dilution. Do not pour unused adhesive back into the original container to avoid affecting its shelf life.
6: This product provides unique and reliable long-term adhesion (up to 48 hours), making it convenient for both mass production and highly delicate processing.
Usage: Dilute directly with water to achieve the appropriate solid content. Can be sprayed or brushed.
Storage: Shelf life is 1 year for oil-based gold leaf adhesive and 6 months for water-based gold leaf adhesive. If stored long-term without layering or mold, it can still be used. Store at room temperature and avoid freezing. Do not use if the ambient temperature is below 10°C.

Gold Leaf Application Process Overview:
1: Prepare the workpiece: Sand the area to be gilded. For wooden workpieces, apply a coat of primer and sand again after drying. For walls, ensure the surface is smooth.
2: Apply adhesive: Apply a thin layer of "water-based gold leaf adhesive" or "oil-based adhesive" to the area where gold leaf will be applied. Use a spray gun for at least two coats or apply manually with a brush, ensuring no areas are missed. Repair any missed or unevenly coated spots.
3: Apply gold leaf: Once the adhesive is slightly dry (tip: use a hairdryer to speed up drying for water-based adhesive, as it evaporates quickly), place the gold leaf sheet onto the adhesive-coated area. Use a soft brush to press the gold leaf firmly against the surface through the backing paper, then gently peel off the backing paper.
4: Check for gaps: Inspect the gilded surface for any missed spots. Repair gaps by applying additional gold leaf using a soft brush (note: use dry gold leaf for repairs).
5: Polishing: After ensuring no gaps remain, use a soft brush to gently rub the gold leaf surface in a circular motion (apply pressure along the seams) to blend the connections and enhance the shine.
6: Apply protective coating: After 8 hours, spray or brush a layer of protective coating over the gold leaf surface. It is recommended to use a specialized protective coating for foil applications.
There are two types of foil adhesives: water-based and oil-based, each suitable for different applications. Water-based adhesive is ideal for flat surfaces, providing a smooth and glossy finish. However, note that copper leaf is prone to oxidation, so avoid using water-based adhesive for copper leaf applications. Oil-based adhesive offers stronger adhesion but may leave texture patterns on flat surfaces, making it less smooth compared to water-based adhesive.
