BYK-141 defoamer is a silicone defoamer for solvent-borne systems, applicable in general industrial coatings, paper coatings, floor coatings, and curtain-coated wood coatings.
Suitable binders for BYK-141 additive include oil-free polyesters, vinyls, polyurethanes, epoxy esters, nitrocellulose, and acid-curing systems.
BYK-141 additive can be used in anticorrosive and marine coatings, architectural coatings, automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinish paints, can coatings, wood and furniture coatings, floor coatings, curtain-coated wood coatings, paper coatings, industrial coatings, room temperature curing systems, and printing inks.
BYK-141 defoamer should be added to the grinding material before grinding. If added at a later stage, sufficient high shear must be applied to ensure good dispersion of the defoamer and prevent cratering. The full effect of the defoamer is achieved 24 hours after incorporation into the system.
