BYK-163 dispersant is a high molecular weight wetting and dispersing agent for solvent-based coatings and inks, and can also be used in the production of pigment concentrates.
German BYK-163 dispersant offers excellent stability and can stabilize a wide range of pigments. When used in solvent-based universal pigment concentrates with aldehyde and acrylic resins as grinding resins, it provides broad compatibility.
BYK-163 dispersant contains high molecular weight additives that deflocculate pigments through steric hindrance.
The high molecular weight additives in BYK-163 dispersant provide the same charge to different pigments, thereby preventing potential co-flocculation of pigments with varying charges. Due to the small size of deflocculated pigment particles, coatings achieve high gloss and improved color strength. In addition, BYK-163 dispersant enhances the transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque pigments. These products reduce viscosity, thereby improving leveling and increasing pigment loading.
