[Properties] Clear crystals or acicular colorless crystals. Relative density 1.85. Soluble in water. 25g soluble in 100ml water at 16°C; 97g soluble at 100°C. Aqueous solution is weakly acidic. Insoluble in alcohol. Decomposes when heated above 110°C. Sublimes upon strong heating.
[Applications] Used as a resin finishing catalyst in the textile printing and dyeing industry. Serves as a gas flux to provide an inert atmosphere. Also used as a flux for aluminum or copper welding, as a catalyst in the manufacturing of sand mold resin binders for magnesium and magnesium alloys and other easily oxidized metal castings and precision castings. Additionally used as a flame retardant and chemical reagent, etc.
