Functional Purpose

Function: Installed on the drain pipe or sewage pipe at the lower part of the oil tank, it automatically opens for drainage and closes automatically after drainage is completed.
Purpose: Suitable for production facilities in the petroleum and petrochemical industries, and for automatic oil interception and drainage in oil tank areas.

Working Principle

This product consists of a cylinder, inlet and outlet valves, and an automatic control device (see Figure 1). Utilizing the density difference between different oil media and water to generate buoyancy and applying the lever principle, the float moves up and down based on the buoyancy difference in the oil-water medium. Through a highly sensitive lever system, the buoyancy difference is amplified, enabling control over the opening and closing of the drainage valve to achieve automatic operation. Additionally, the product features a special design structure without back pressure, making the valve's opening and closing more sensitive. It can also achieve automatic system monitoring based on user needs, automating dehydration management in tank areas.

An inlet is located at the top of the dehydrator housing, and a drainage outlet is at the bottom. Inside, a float ball is connected via a linkage rod to a small valve core at the other end, with a counterweight installed above the float ball via the linkage rod. When the float ball rises or falls due to buoyancy, it drives the valve core to open or close the drainage outlet.

Features

1. The dehydration principle breaks through the traditional concept of automatic oil tank water separation. It perfectly utilizes Archimedes' principle and the lever principle, achieving automatic dehydration without the need for a power source based on the density difference between oil and water, ensuring intrinsic safety and reliability.
2. It cleverly solves the problem of residual oil in the dehydrator not automatically returning to the oil tank during the dehydration process.
3. After each dehydration cycle, a certain water level is always maintained inside the dehydrator, forming an automatic water seal to ensure no oil overflow.

5. No vulnerable parts, long service life, easy installation and maintenance. Installation does not require tank cleaning or hot work.

Installation Diagram

1. This product must be installed on a stable and solid foundation. The inlet should be level with or slightly below the oil tank's drainage outlet.
2. Two installation methods: ① Installation for oil tanks without a siphon pipe (see Figure 2). ② Installation for oil tanks with a siphon pipe (see Figure 3).
3. Tighten all fasteners in the pipeline, ensure sealed connections, and avoid any liquid leakage. The water separation outlet should be debugged and fixed with the corresponding model counterweight according to the type of oil used by the unit.
4. The valve connecting the oil tank and the dehydrator should be a straight-through type valve (such as a gate valve) and a straight pipe without elbows to avoid affecting oil return.
5. In northern regions, install steam tracing pipes to prevent freezing. For dehydrators with steam tracing pipes, the connecting valve to the oil tank must not be closed to prevent overheating and pressure buildup.

Precautions

1. Valves at the oil tank outlet should preferably be straight-through types (e.g., single valve, ball valve).
2. The pipeline from the oil tank to the dehydrator should be horizontal or sloped toward the dehydrator.
3. For oil tank outlet pipes with elbows (siphon type), it is recommended to remove the elbow. If removal is not possible, a return oil pipe with a diameter of DN32 must be installed.
4. For cold regions or viscous oil dehydration, a "self-operated temperature control valve" should be installed.
5. In cold regions, it is recommended to add tracing and insulation for oil tank dehydration pipelines and return oil lines.
6. For large-volume oil tanks, high water content in oil, or short dehydration cycles, it is advisable to increase the number of dehydrators appropriately.
7. Regularly remove sediments from the dehydrator and filter to ensure normal operation.
8. Regularly check the dehydrator for oil leaks and replace the sealing rings of double valves promptly.
9. During dehydrator operation, ensure proper venting to avoid air resistance affecting normal operation.
10. If the dehydrator encounters emulsified oil sludge and cannot dehydrate normally, this is a normal phenomenon. A manual water separation outlet should be installed before the dehydrator.
