Classification of Poly Aluminum Chloride
Form Classification a. Liquid Poly Aluminum Chloride: The undried form, which has the advantages of no need for dilution, convenient handling and use, and relatively low price. The disadvantage is that transportation requires tank trucks, increasing unit transportation costs (one ton of solid is equivalent to 2-3 tons of liquid). b. Solid Poly Aluminum Chloride: The dried form, which has the advantage of convenient transportation and no need for tank trucks. The disadvantage is that it still requires dilution during use, increasing work intensity.
Usage of Poly Aluminum Chloride
a. The dosage varies depending on the water being treated. For general water purification, the dosage is approximately: liquid product 5-100 grams/ton, solid product 2-30 grams/ton (based on commercial product). This can be determined through beaker tests. b. It can be directly added to water. The amount of water added can be determined based on the dosage and the volume of water to be treated. After adding water, it should be stirred evenly.
Precautions for Poly Aluminum Chloride
a. Water treatment agents from different manufacturers or of different brands should not be mixed, and they should not be stored together with other chemicals. b. The original solution and diluted solution are slightly corrosive but less so than other inorganic coagulants. c. The effective storage period of the product: liquid for six months, solid for one year. Solid products can still be used after becoming damp. d. When used appropriately, the water quality after purification meets the sanitary standards for drinking water.
Plate and Frame Type Poly Aluminum Chloride, abbreviated as PAC in English, belongs to the same category of water purification agents as basic aluminum chloride and spray-dried poly aluminum chloride. Plate and frame type poly aluminum chloride is a cationic inorganic polymer flocculant with multiple hydroxyl groups and polynuclear complexes. The solid product appears as yellow or white solid powder, with the chemical formula [AL2(OH)nCL6-n]m (where 1≤n≤5, m≤10). It is easily soluble in water, has strong bridging adsorption properties, and undergoes electrochemical, coagulation, adsorption, and precipitation processes during hydrolysis, ultimately forming [AL2(OH)3(OH)3], thereby achieving purification.
Performance Characteristics of Plate and Frame Type Poly Aluminum Chloride:
1. Poly aluminum chloride has a large molecular structure, strong adsorption capacity, low dosage, and low treatment cost. 2. It has good solubility and high activity, forming large flocs in water bodies that settle quickly, with a purification capacity 2-3 times greater than other inorganic flocculants. 3. It has strong adaptability and is less affected by water pH and temperature. After purification, the water meets national drinking water standards, with low levels of cations and anions in the treated water, which is beneficial for ion exchange treatment and the preparation of high-purity water. 4. It has low corrosiveness, is easy to operate, and can reduce the labor intensity and improve working conditions during dosing.
Application Fields of Plate and Frame Type Poly Aluminum Chloride:
1. Can be used for the treatment of river water, lake water, and groundwater. 2. Can be used for the treatment of industrial water and industrial circulating water. 3. Can be used for wastewater treatment. 4. Can be used for the recovery of coal mine wash water and ceramic industry wastewater. 5. Can be used for paper bonding.
Spray-dried poly aluminum chloride is an inorganic polymer coagulant, primarily determined by the working principle of pressure atomizers. It has high aluminum content, low water insolubles, and fast dissolution speed, making it widely used in drinking water, industrial water, and wastewater treatment.
Spray-dried poly aluminum chloride involves drying and atomizing poly aluminum chloride into fine particles. This granular form has excellent application performance. Poly aluminum chloride is a water-soluble substance with good thermal stability and high solubility. During the drying process, a poly aluminum chloride solution with 40%-50% solid content is introduced into a high-pressure pump, pressurized, and then atomized in the dryer's atomizer, dispersing into fine droplets. The droplets are dried to form granular products, completing drying and granulation simultaneously.
Spray-dried poly aluminum chloride has high stability, broad adaptability to water bodies, fast hydrolysis speed, strong absorptivity, rapid and large floc formation, low turbidity, and excellent dehydration properties. For the same water quality, the dosage of spray-dried products is lower compared to other products. Especially for highly polluted water, spray-dried products require only half the dosage of drum-dried products, reducing labor intensity and customer costs. Additionally, overdosing spray-dried products will not cause pollution, avoiding accidents and ensuring the safety of drinking water.
