Main Uses: Benzoic acid and its sodium salt can be used as antibacterial agents in latex, toothpaste, jam, or other foods, and also as mordants in dyeing and printing. They can also serve as intermediates in pharmaceuticals and dyes, used in the production of plasticizers and fragrances, as well as rust inhibitors for steel equipment.
