Modified Glutaraldehyde

　　This product is a new generation leather tanning agent developed through modification based on glutaraldehyde tanning agents. It overcomes the drawbacks of high-concentration glutaraldehyde, such as its pungent odor, tendency to polymerize into water-insoluble substances, and the yellowing of finished leather. Modified glutaraldehyde primarily interacts with the peptide chain amino groups in leather to form strong cross-links and forms acetals with the hydroxyl groups in collagen. Due to its macromolecular structure with multiple binding sites, it forms cyclic three-dimensional molecules after reaction, resulting in soft leather that is resistant to oxidation, has good storage stability, fine grain, excellent extensibility, dye-assisting and leveling properties. The finished leather is wash-resistant, sweat-resistant, acid and alkali-resistant, and possesses certain filling effects.

Applications:
　　This product is mainly used for leather tanning, suitable for pre-tanning, retanning, or combination tanning of chrome-tanned leather, as well as for fur tanning. It can be used under acidic, neutral, or alkaline conditions, with a dosage of 2-5% (based on shaved weight), within a pH range of 4-5 or 7-8, preferably 7.0. The tanning temperature ranges from 10-40°C, with an optimal range of 30-35°C. The liquor ratio is between 1-10, preferably 1-2.5, and the drumming time should not be less than 0.5 hours.
